What products does SME Bank offer?

SME Bank offers extensive products mainly for the SMEs entrepreneurs which include Business Financing for working capital and assets, Contract Financing and Business Premise Financing Scheme.

What is the classification of SMEs?

SME are classified according to the National SME Development Council definition on SME business size category, that is micro, small and medium size of businesses.

How do I apply for business financing?

SME Bank offers a fully Shariah based financing facilities. Generally, how does it differ from the conventional type of financing?

Islamic financing is not based on the concept of providing financing for profit, but it provides financing to the entrepreneurs who have a need for their businesses based on Shariah principle.

We have a project in Melaka that requires financing. Should we submit our application to SME Bank Head Office in Kuala Lumpur or to SME Bank branch office in Melaka for the processing?

To facilitate matters, the application should be submitted to the branch office for processing. However, if the applicant’s main office is resided in Kuala Lumpur while the project is located in another state, the application can be submitted to SME Bank Head Office in Kuala Lumpur.

I am running a business in overseas. Am I eligible to apply for a financing to finance my business overthere?

SME Bank is a development financial institution mandated with the role of nurturing and meeting the needs of Malaysian-owned and controlled Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). However, SME Bank does not finance Malaysian companies doing business overseas.

What are SME Bank business operation hours?

Our business operation hours are as follows :

Monday to Thursday : 8:30 am until 5.30 pm.
Lunch hour : 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm

Friday : 8:30 am until 4:45 pm.
Lunch hour : 12:30 pm until 2:45pm

We are closed during lunch hour.

The above business operation hours differ in SME Bank branches at Kelantan and Terengganu.
