SME Bank Applies Fintech To Enhance Its Service Delivery
KUALA LUMPUR : 1 September 2016 – SME Bank continues to improve its service delivery by applying the concept of FinTech (Financial Technology) through the introduction of its new mobile application called, 4SME. This engagement app functions as a one stop centre to house data and information of the Bank customers’ project development and progress.
Can be categorised as one of the initiatives under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) introduced by the government, the 4SME mobile app is equipped with preloaded interview questions as a reference for the Bank’s officer to collect data, accessible during online and offline mode to enable the officer to upload photo and information during their site visits that will lead to a speedy approval process. The 4SME app is also synchronised with the Bank’s internal system, the Financing Origination System (FOS) which allows the officer to quickly and easily access and review the customer’s contact details, location, financing amount and payment information.
Datuk Mohd Radzif Mohd Yunus, SME Bank’s Group Managing Director said, “The idea to develop the 4SME app came when the Bank’s Operations team discussed on how can the Bank assist the client by monitoring their development and progress in a more dynamic and systematic way.”
Since coming into live mode in June, a total of 324 of the Bank’s staff have registered and used the app. SME Bank is targeting to get 10,000 hits of site visit reports to be uploaded into the 4SME app by the end of September. Moving forward, SME Bank will further enhance the contents and functions of the 4SME mobile application.
SME Bank’s commitment in assisting the SMEs to grow and remain competitive have been recognized internationally by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) in Apia, Samoa on 2 May 2016 when it received the awards for Outstanding Development Project for the Graduate Entrepreneur Fund (TUS) and Best Sustainability Report 2014.
