KUALA LUMPUR : 30 August 2016 – The spirit of ‘Sehati Sejiwa’ is deeply rooted  amongst the staff of SME Bank based on the outcome of a slogan  competition which was held for two weeks from 15 August to 26 August 2016. A of total 52 staff submitted their slogans which depicts what independence meant for them. Winners of the slogan competition walked away with cash amounting RM300 for the Champion, RM200 for second place and RM100 for third place. Consolation prizes were given to the fourth to tenth placing winners.  The slogans were compiled in a giant frame and displayed at the lobby of Menara SME Bank.

To make the celebration more impactful, a few other activities were also organised such as the SME Bank’s staff Children Fancy Dress Competition and poem recital by one of the SME Bank’s staff. A rubber wrist bands with Merdeka Day Celebration wordings were also distributed to all staff and guests at the event.

The Bank together with the SME Bank’s Sports and Recreational Club also organised the Merdeka Souq and six food trucks entrepreneurs were invited to offer their delicacies at the compound of Menara SME Bank. Besides food trucks, 15 other booths were also provided for the entrepreneurs to promote their products to the members of the public.

Datuk Mohd Radzif Mohd Yunus, Group Managing Director hopes that the National Day Celebration will strengthen the spirit of ‘Sehati Sejiwa’ in our quest in defending the sovereignty of the Nation as well as to inculcate unity amongst the staff of SME Bank.

The SME Bank’s National Day Celebration was graced by the presence of YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Bin Haji Maslan, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry who officiated the event and gave away the prizes to the winners.
