3,726 SME Bank’s Customers Receive SRP PEMULIH Moratorium Facility Worth RM5.4 Billion in Financing Value
SME Bank is offering moratorium assistance up to six (6) months and extension of repayment period up to 12 months effective July 2021 which will benefit 3,726 customers; involving a total financing of RM5.4 billion through the SRP PEMULIH (SRP- SME Relief Program).
SME Bank Group President / Chief Executive Officer, Aria Putera Ismail said, “The SRP PEMULIH provided by SME Bank is not only for moratorium, but we also offer extension of the financing period enabling customers to manage their cash flow more effectively.”
Aria added, “Prior to this, SME Bank had offered SRP 1.0 and 2.0 packages respectively which aimed to restore affected businesses. For SRP 1.0, SME Bank had assisted a total of 3,084 customers with financing value of RM4.1 billion. Meanwhile, for SRP 2.0 which was in the form of targeted assistance, 311 customers had benefited with financing value worth more than RM248 million.”
"From the beginning of the pandemic and the introduction of SRP 1.0 until SRP PEMULIH, SME Bank has been proactive in assisting SME entrepreneurs. The Bank's Relationship Managers have contacted all customers to understand the problems faced and offered suitable solutions to overcome them. This, coupled with a simplified process of which customers who meet the eligibility criteria do not have to apply but instead were offered options according to their needs," said Aria.
The sectors that received SME Bank’s attention were the tourism and passenger transport sectors which were the most affected sectors due to this pandemic. Other sectors that also received assistance includes the services, retail and construction sectors.
Meanwhile, in its continuous efforts to provide the necessary assistance to SME entrepreneurs and addressing their financing and business issues, SME Bank will be organising the SME Bank XCESS 2021 program virtually on 26 July 2021. This national level business matching program will bring together 20 anchor companies, 9 private equity companies, government agencies, GLCs and private sectors who will offer direct assistance to the entrepreneurs in attendance.
