SME Bank has allocated RM110,000 from its zakat and corporate funds to organise various Ramadan corporate social responsibility programmes this year. In total, 4,609 Asnafs have benefited from this nationwide programme through the donation of food packs, school supplies and cash.

As an initiative to provide the opportunity for SME Bank employees to give back to the community, Group President / Chief Executive Officer of SME Bank, Datuk Wira (Dr.) Aria Putera Ismail stated, "In line with SME Bank's core value SMILE, this programme instils the value of good deeds through teamwork. A total of 87 employees at the head office volunteered for the Program Imarah Masjid which was held around the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Among the activities held are gotong-royong to clean seven mosques, suraus and madrasahs, as well as the contribution of food pack for breaking fast has been implemented since April 6 2023, as an initiative to improve mosques and suraus for the comfort of the parishioners."

Datuk Wira Aria added, "Apart from this, 19 SME Bank branches nationwide also organised Ramadan Programmes in their respective areas to ease the burden of Eid and back to school preparations. A total of 2,369 Asnafs from the elderly, single mothers, orphans and B40 students have benefited from this initiatives. This is our inclusive step to ensure the staff at the branch also involve in programmes organised by the Bank while also giving back to the local communities.”

The SME Bank Ramadan corporate social responsibility Programme at Masjid At-Tarmizi, Sentosa, Kuala Lumpur on 14 April 2023 was also attended by senior management led by Datuk Wira (Dr.) Aria Putera Ismail, SME Bank Group President / Chief Executive Officer. Apart from these special programmes for the month of Ramadan, SME Bank also organises various corporate responsibility programmes that focus on the development of the entrepreneurial community.
