SME Bank wins two (2) awards at the 41st Annual Meeting of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) held in New Delhi, India from 20-22 February 2018 namely the Winner of the SME Development Category for its SUKSES TV programme and the Best Sustainability Report.

SUKSES is a magazine talk show that shares the success stories of the local SMEs, updated news on SME Bank’s offerings and general development in the SME sector.  SUKSES airs every Friday, 8.30 pm on Astro Awani Channel 501.  The second award received by SME Bank is the Best Award for its 2016 Sustainability Report.  Winning the Best Sustainability Report Award is a testimony on the Bank’s efforts toward being a sustainable entity that emphasizes on the well-being of the community that the Bank served.

For this year, the theme for the 41st ADFIAP Annual Meeting is “Promoting Inclusive & Sustainable Development – Role of DFIs”.  The theme was selected to highlight the needs for development financial institutions globally to promote sustainable developments which include balancing economic, social, and environmental aspects when financing and investing in projects.

ADFIAP is the focal point of all development banks and other financial institutions engaged in the financing of development in the Asia-Pacific region.  With its mission to advance sustainable development through its members, ADFIAP which was founded in 1976 has currently 131 member-institutions in 45 countries.  The Asian Development Bank is a Special Member of the Association.  ADFIAP is also a founding member of the World Federation of Development Financing Institutions composed of regional associations in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East.  ADFIAP is an NGO in consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council.  The permanent Secretariat of ADFIAP is based in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
